In recent days, local chapters of Meals on Wheels have seen a surge of applicants for their services. And as expected these chapters are answering the call with eagerness and a commitment to serve those in need. As they experience this surge, we want to make sure our local chapters have the resources they need to continue to meet the demands of all the senior who need it.
VANTAGE POINT AND ITS COMMUNITIES DONATING TO LOCAL CHAPTERS
During this time of great need, Vantage Point Retirement Living and its community are answering this call and donating to a local Meals on Wheels chapter in the backyard of every community we’re building. Meals on Wheels is federally funded, but they rely heavily on donations from the community to ensure that no senior is left without a meal because of their inability to pay. A typical donation per meal is around $5 – so any amount, no matter how small, can have a BIG impact.
No one is immune to Covid-19 nor are they immune from the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial impacts it causes.
If you’re able to answer the call with us, you can support a local chapter of Meals on Wheels here:
- Meals on Wheels of Chester County, PA (Vantage Point Retirement Living/Fieldstone at Chester Springs)
- Family Services Montco (Arcadia at Limerick Pointe) – Call 610-326-1610
- City Fare – MOW Serving Newcastle County (Meadowcrest at Middletown)
- Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth Beach (The Lodges at Truitt Homestead and Lewes)
- MAC, Inc. (Summersgate)
Meals on Wheels America has also set up a national Covid-19 Response Fund – you can donate to that fund here.
If you are unable to support financially, that’s OK! Some chapters are accepting donations of packaged meals and shelf-stable items. If you have any to spare, consider donating a box to a good cause…
We’re Calling on Others to Act, Too | #seniorserversservingseniors
We’d like to call on other professionals in the senior living industry to support your local chapter as well. If we serve seniors as a profession, we should be serving seniors a meal during a crisis. If you donate – please share your story with us on social media using #seniorserversservingmeals.
At Vantage Point, we talk a lot of family… And now more than ever we need to be one big, collective family!
If you, or someone you know, is finding it challenging to get groceries and/or regular meals – please reach out to us and we will do our best to find you the resources you need! Email [email protected] and we’ll answer your message as soon as possible.
