As a company that develops retirement communities, we talk extensively about the benefits of moving to communities like ours. We are so authentically passionate about what we do that we want to shout the many physical, mental, social, spiritual and financial benefits from the rooftops. But as much as we believe in what we do, our message sometimes gets lost because after all, we’re ‘selling’ the lifestyle – not living it. So we thought we’d talk to a few people who ARE living it.

We’d like to first introduce you to Fred & Jean… Fred & Jean have taken a leap-of-faith with us and chosen to become some of the first residents to move into The Lodge at Truitt Homestead – opening in just a few, short months in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. They chose The Lodge for the following reasons:

Next, meet Susan and David… who have been living in an independent living community and loving the lifestyle it’s created for them. Michele, who you may know as The Lodge’s Community Relations Director, first met Susan and David at her previous community and became quick friends with them. They were happy to meet with us and share why they chose independent living, when they easily could have stayed at home in New Jersey or purchased in a 55+ community. Their reasons include:

Similar Reasons, Different Definitions
You’ll notice that many of their reasons for “choosing now” for an independent lifestyle are the same. Flexibility, security, simplicity, and more are all very common reasons for people to move to communities like ours. But defining what those reasons mean are unique to each and every person we talk to.
